LS.2.1 explores dramatic forms and theatrical conventions

In this lesson students will explore the dramatic forms and theatrical conventions in "the Witches" by Roald Dahl, Students will do this by researching the world inside the book. By using the information gathered from Lesson 1: students must apply the preivous knowledge and apply it to "the Witches".

Research Activity 20mins
Students are to use the knowledge gathered from Lesson 1: and apply it to Lesson 3:. Because the students are now familiar with the metalanguage associated with Drama, they are to find out the answer of each question by using "the Witches" by Roald Dahl. Students will be split into groups and given 3 or 4 dot points each to research. Then at the end of the activity we come back as a class and present the information gathered to the rest of the class (Jigsaw Learning).

Creative Activity 15mins
In 500 words, create a new ending to 'The Witches' instead of the conventional ending. Students are aiming to provide a creative piece of writing in order to familiarize with improvisation. Once the students are finished writing their alternative endings, they are to upload each of the passages of writing onto their wiki spaces page. From there the students are to decorate their pages by using pictures and creative fonts to justify their creativeness.
